"J2" is a tile made from a special clay with minimal impurities, fired to a pure white finish. By producing it in a size of 47mm square, the area of the grout lines is minimized, enhancing the whiteness. This is a product that explores an unprecedented level of whiteness, changing the standard for white. With sharp edges, it gives a sharp impression, appearing as if it is translucent pure white. Typically, soil contains a lot of iron, which turns red when fired. The soil from the Tono region is characterized by its low impurity content, resulting in a white color when fired. "Taut" is an original tile from Oribe Seito Co., Ltd. Various glazes have been applied to the texture of the tile surface, and some of the glaze has been partially rubbed off. Without using masking, the glazing is done by hand based on the craftsman's intuition. By applying glaze over the entire surface and then rubbing it off, a matte base and the gloss of the glaze are expressed within a single piece. The glossy glaze that shines at certain angles creates a fresh sense of excitement and surprise. The expressive quality comes from polished techniques and experience.
